FC Platinum new forward Lameck Nhamo vows not to disappoint with goals

FC Platinum new signing Lameck Nhamo has vowed not to disappoint as the platinum miners gear-up for Sunday’s Caf Champions League first round, first leg visit to AS Otoho of Congo Brazzaville.

The Zimbabwean champions have turned to striker Nhamo and a few other new players as they seek to reach the Champions League group phase for the first time ever.

Finishing the 2018 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League season with 15 goals for his previous club Triangle, Nhamo has promised not to disappoint for FC Platinum.

“Now that I have been given the chance to play for the best team in the country at the moment, I have made a promise not to disappoint,” Nhamo told NewsDay.

“They had faith in me and gave me an opportunity to play in the Caf Champions League, even with less than a week in camp with them. I felt so special that day.

“Of course, the team has been scoring, but most of the times they won with small goal margins, but given the chance and the rate of hard work I have seen so far, I think I can add more value to this great squad.”

The 31-year-old forward missed the trip to Madagascar to face CNaPS in the preliminary round, first leg clash as he was still tied to Triangle.

But a few days after playing against FC Platinum with Triangle in a Zimbabwe Super Cup tie, Nhamo was donning the platinum miners’ shirt in the return fixture against CNaPS at home last week.
