FC Goa, who had finished as runners-up in the second season of the Indian Super League, chose to focus mainly on local talent at the domestic drafts held in Mumbai on Sunday.

Having retained the services of Laxmikant Kattimani and Mandar Rao Dessai, they began their picks from Round three and were quick to pounce on the opportunity to bring back Narayan Das and Pronay Halder for ₹58 lakhs each.

The duo, who made their names while playing for Pailan Arrows and have been part of the India national team in the last couple of years, represented FC Pune City and Mumbai City FC in the last edition of the high-profile league.

By Round eight, the Gaurs were done with their most expensive buys from the draft, having picked another former player in Pratesh Shirodkar for ₹​24 lakhs before leaving it late in the case of Anthony D'Souza for ₹​16 lakhs.

In the final round of the draft, Derrick Pereira and Sujay Sharma chose the club's third Indian goalkeeper when they opted for Bruno Colaco, with former Salgaocar FC custodian Naveen Kumar chosen earlier.

Brandon Fernandes got his wish granted to play for Goa this season, coming in at a cost of ₹​27.5 lakhs. Defender Chinglensana Singh Konsham, priced ₹​19 lakhs, also made his way to the coastal state for the coming season.
