Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic must ensure strikers such as Justin Shonga exert more pressure on Kaizer Chiefs ' defence on Saturday, that is the view of ex-midfielder Dumisa Ngobe.
The Witbank-born legend was speaking to Goal ahead of the Soweto Derby which is set to take place at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“Based on what I've seen so far and with Micho playing his second derby since joining Pirates, I think he will start the game with a high gear to ensure they unsettle Chiefs from the onset,” Ngobe told Goal.
For the Amakhosi coach, Giovanni Solinas will be in charge of the Soweto giants in a Derby for the very first time after replacing Steve Komphela at the beginning of the current season.
On the other hand, Sredojevic will want to bag his second win over Chiefs after securing a 3-1 win and a draw over Chiefs last season, but his side is likely to come against a more formidable Chiefs outfit this time around.
“Pirates are at home and it will be good to win it, unlike the Chiefs coach who will manage his side for the first time in a derby, but he has good players,” he said.
“Players like Shonga, (Thembinkosi) Lorch and (Vincent) Pule could give Chiefs troubles in the final third, that is if the coach decides to play them on the day - I am sure they will upset Chiefs if they are available on the day,” Ngobe predicted.
“Micho is very aware about Chiefs' tactical abilities and those of his own team. I will say the previous games and the Telkom Knockout Cup match against Chippa United are not a true reflection of how they will play against Chiefs,” reacted the former Bafana Bafana midfielder.
“In my view, I predict a high tempo game and I see the boys taking the full three points on the day,” he concluded.
