Coleman: Real Madrid will determine if Bale plays for Wales

Real Madrid will determine whether Gareth Bale plays any part in Wales' upcoming friendly matches against France and Panama, Chris Coleman says.

The 28-year-old has not appeared for club or country since scoring the winning goal against Borussia Dortmund in Real's 3-1 Champions League victory in September due to a calf injury, missing Wales' final two World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Republic of Ireland.

Coleman's men picked up a 1-0 win over the former but crashed to a defeat of the same scoreline to the latter, meaning they will not participate in the finals of next summer's competition.

Bale also missed Real's trip to his former club Tottenham on Wednesday, with Spurs registering a shock 3-1 victory over Zinedine Zidane's side.

Despite his injury, Bale has been included in Wales' upcoming double-header, though it is unknown whether he will take part.

And Coleman, who has confirmed he is conversation with Real, says the Spanish giants will have the ultimate say.

"He hasn't been or isn't in the squad (for Madrid) but we are in open dialogue with Real and we will be governed by what they say," the Wales manager revealed.

"He will be training with us because he is at a good level.

"If they say he can play 10 or 20 minutes then great, if they say no then absolutely not. There will be open dialogue.

"We will tell them this is where he is and they will get data off us everyday like they always do. We will know anyway when we see him but if Madrid say he is not playing, he is not playing.

"If they say he can play 20 or 30 that is exactly what will happen, but we are just delighted that he is going to be involved in some capacity."
