Coach Dylan Kerr: Gor Mahia will play to win against Rayon Sports

Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has promised fans that they will play to win the match against Rayon Sports on Sunday.

Rayon Sports are yet to win a match in Group D and will be seeking to beat the Kenyan champions in the contest set for Kasarani Stadium.

The seventeen-time Kenyan champions were held to a one all draw in the first leg. Meddie Kagere, who is now a Simba SC player, had scored the opener for the Dylan Kerr led side in the 10th minute, before Erick Rutanga equalized for the home side fifteen minutes later.

The Briton coach has revealed to Goal that they will play with the aim of carrying the day. “We are going to do what we always do, to play and win the game.”

Asked on whether the injured trio of – Boniface Oluoch, Jacques Tuyisenge and Ephraim Guikan – will be involved, Kerr responded, “we will monitor them again on (Saturday) and that is when I can be able to know if they are ready or not.”

However, the Rwandan giants will have to navigate the fixture and a home game against Tanzania’s Yanga on August 29 without the services of key midfielder Yannick Mukunzi, goalkeeper Kassim Nzayisenga, and striker Christ Mbondi.

The three are serving a ban from Caf after they were found guilty of violating the Caf Disciplinary Code and Statutes during the return-leg clash against USM Alger in Algeria.
