Ghana striker Patrick Twumasi is on the verge of joining French Ligue 1 side Caen from Kazakhstani champions Astana FC in a three-and-half-year deal before the January transfer window closes, Goal can confirm.
The 23-year-old scored 13 goals in 30 games to help Astana clinch their fourth consecutive title in November last year. He also contributed to their qualification to the knockout stage of the Uefa Europa League.
According to reports, Astana's €1 million price tag has been met by the French club, with Twumasi set to travel to Normandy to undergo a medical with Patrice Garande’s side, who are currently fighting to avoid relegation.
Caen sit 13th on the log with 27 points, three above safety.
