His transfer comes in the same week that Christian Bassogog, the Player of the Tournament from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, moved to Henan Jianye of the Chinese Super League.

Besides, the move means that the player - who starred during the 2017 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers - has ended his decade long stint in Belgium, a period that saw him receive his football education at Anderlecht and Genk earlier on.

Timbe also follows Kenyan teammate Michael Olunga, the forward, who signed for Guizhou Zhicheng of Chinese Super League from Djurgardens IF in Sweden.
