Watch out, MrBeast, Cristiano Ronaldo is coming! Al-Nassr icon reveals ambitious plan for YouTube channel after record-shattering launch

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo joined the YouTube content creator ranks on August 21, having already enjoyed social media success as the most-followed account on Instagram. Unsurprisingly, fans flocked to join CR7 in his new venture, with more history being made.

Ronaldo took MrBeast’s record as the fastest YouTube channel to 20 million subscribers, and has continued to climb the standings since then. The 39-year-old, who plies his club trade in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr, is up to 55.8m subscribers and counting.

He has some way to go when it comes to catching MrBeast and his tally of 313m subscribers, but has told reporters of his ambitious plans for the future: “My purpose in this was to be closer to my fans, I think they deserve it. What impressed me most at the European Championships was the support, the next two or three years will be the end of my career and what they showed me was the most important thing. Subscribers and records... you have to put these things into perspective, but I want to beat them. Everything in its own time and I feel that the fans are happier now and my first interpretation of this, a few months ago, was to be closer to them, and I am very pleased to do so. In two years, if I can beat MrBeast, we will see.”

Ronaldo quickly passed one of his biggest fans, YouTube streaming star IShowSpeed, who said during a live video recording of being overtaken by his idol: “Oh my god he just did it in one day, he passed me in one day! Siu! Nobody can stop him! Nobody, he’s the GOAT!”
