Toni Kroos goes viral with hilarious tweet after Cristiano Ronaldo scores 900th goal as Real Madrid legend pokes fun at his own record

Even at 39, the Portuguese talisman continues to set new milestones as he became the first player in football history to score 900 official goals. Ronaldo faced a massive backlash after a lacklustre showing at Euro 2024 when he failed to find the net, but the forward seems to have got back his mojo in front of goal back after rejuvenating himself during the post-season break- netting inthree straight games for club and country since the tournament.

Many of his colleagues, both past and present, congratulated Ronaldo on his incredible achievement and Kroos, who has spent several years with him at Real Madrid, happened to be one of them. However, the German, known for his subtle humour, chose to evoke fun at his own expense which left the Twitter universe in stitches.

In a post on his official ‘X’ account, Kroos wrote: "Don’t even reach 900 if i combine games and training goals."

Kroos has scored 183 goals in his career with 17 of them coming on the international stage. While his record is nowhere close to Ronaldo's 900, he boasts of finding the net on more occasions than many other celebrated midfield greats including Xavi (124) and Andres Iniesta (107).

While Kroos has hung up his boots, Ronaldo continues to shine and will be back in action against Scotland on Sunday in the Nations League.
