The Chelsea flop, who rejoined RB Leipzig last summer, has experienced limited playing time at the Bundesliga club having appeared in 14 matches across all competitions and clocking just 386 minutes on the pitch. Now Bild reports that Leipzig are ready to let the striker leave in the upcoming transfer window with Premier League side West Ham reportedly eager to sign him.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Upon his return, the Germany international scored 16 goals in 40 appearances for the club last season. He also suffered a ligament injury during the campaign that kept him out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Thereafter, his form took a major dip in 2023 as he lost his place in the club's starting lineup and has also not appeared for Germany since June this year.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

With players like Xavi Simons, Lois Openda, Yussuf Poulsen and Benjamin Sesko consistently performing for the club, the 27-year-old will find it difficult to get back into Marco Rose's starting lineup this season. This could prompt him to return to the Premier League if an offer comes his way.
