  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Rangers and Celtic renewed hostilities on Sunday at Celtic Park in a dramatic game that resulted in a 3-2 win for the visitors. There was also controversy after Hamza Igamane netted an 88th-minute winner which led to raucous celebrations that saw Cerny spray water at Hoops fans as he sprinted down the touchline.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Footage of the incident, which enraged Celtic fans, was captured by Sky Sports and could land Cerny in hot water. Police and security had to step in at the time in an attempt to defuse the situation and Celtic have now confirmed they have been in touch with the authorities.

  • WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

    Celtic issued a statement after the game that read: "With regards to the match at Celtic Park, we can also confirm that the Club has raised concerns regarding members of the away team engaging with Celtic supporters with the relevant authorities."

    A spokesperson for Police Scotland has since confirmed: "Officers received information and enquiries are ongoing."

    Cerny joined Rangers on loan from Wolfsburg in the summer and now faces an anxious wait to discover if any action will be taken because of his actions. The win was Rangers' first at Celtic Park in almost five years but Brendan Rodgers' side remain in top spot in the league and now sit 13 points ahead of their bitter rivals.
