PSG ready to battle Man City & Arsenal for £100m Bruno Guimaraes signing as French giants look to replace flop midfielder

The Ligue 1 champions signed Ugarte for a whopping €60m (£52m/$64m) from Sporting CP ahead of the 2023-24 season. However, the Uruguayan has failed to live up to the expectations having appeared in 37 matches across all competitions, providing three assists.

According to Le10sport, PSG are already considering parting ways with the defensive midfielder after just one season. Sporting director Luis Campos has included two high-profile names in the club's shortlist of midfielders who could replace the 23-year-old. The list includes players like Bayern Munich's star Joshua Kimmich and Newcastle's Guimaraes.

The Magpies star has been a subject of intense speculation recently, with several elite clubs including Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester City vying for his signature. The 26-year-old penned a new deal last summer and has a £100m ($125m) release clause in his existing contract that is valid until 2028.

The French giants, who won three titles under Luis Enrique this season, are expected to make quite a few changes in their existing squad as they continue to chase the elusive Champions League trophy.
