Pep Guardiola aims veiled dig at rivals Man Utd as he insists Man City have done well not to slide out of Premier League top six despite nightmarish season

The reigning Premier League champions have endured a difficult 2024-25 campaign thus far. They have lost seven out of their first 24 league matches and have conceded 35 goals as they find themselves fifth in the table as things stand. Despite their poor form, Guardiola believes that City are still doing well compared to other giants like Manchester United, who are not even among the top 10.

Speaking to reporters, the Spanish coach said: "Maybe we'll finish 14th-15th but we are fifth, we are not dropping like other teams that had success in the past."

The Red Devils have lost their last three Premier League matches, with the defeat against Crystal Palace being their 11th in the current campaign. While the club are doing well in the Europa League and FA Cup, their league form has been abysmal as they find themselves 13th in the table.

The Cityzens will be back in action in the Premier League on Saturday as they host Newcastle United at Etihad Stadium.
