Olympics 2020 squads: Mexico, Brazil, Germany & every official men's football tournament roster

Head coach Sylvain Ripoll's squad for this summer's tournament was announced on June 25.

Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who ranked at No.2 in Goal's NXGN list this year, was initially included, as was Arsenal defender William Saliba, but both players were removed from the final panel after their clubs objected.

Malang Sarr, Amine Gouiri and Maxence Caqueret were also in the initial panel before being removed at the behest of their clubs.

Tigres forward Andre-Pierre Gignac and midfielder Florian Thauvin, who recently joined his compatriot in Mexico, are named as over-age players, as is Montpellier's Teji Savanier.

Goalkeepers: Paul Bernardoni, Stefan Bajic, Dimitry Bertaud.

Defenders: Melvin Bard, Anthony Caci, Ismael Doukoure, Pierre Kalulu, Clement Michelin, Timothee Pembele, Modibo Sagnan.

Japan’s final squad was announced on June 22.

Real Madrid’s Takefusa Kubo, ranked at No.9 in Goal’s 2020 NXGN list, is the headline name in Abinobu Yokouchi’s squad, with Sampdoria defender Maya Yoshida the captain.

A provisional 22-man squad for Mexico was announced on June 15, with the final squad confirmed on July 6.

Real Betis’ Diego Lainez, ranked eighth in Goal's 2019 NXGN list, is one of just two players on the list who doesn’t play his football in Mexico, with the other being Genk's Gerardo Arteaga.

The squad also includes 35-year-old goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, who has been to four World Cup tournaments with the senior team and was part of the 2004 Olympic squad.

South Africa's squad for this summer’s Olympic Games was announced on July 3.

The team will be led by David Notoane, whose 78-man preliminary squad included Southampton’s Kgoagelo Chauke, Leicester City’s Khanya Leshabela and Brighton's Percy Tau.

However, none of that Premier League trio are in the final 22, which features 17 players who represent clubs in South Africa. Goalkeeper Ronwen Williams is the only over-aged player included.

Honduras' final squad was announced on July 2.

The team, who has reached the past three Olympic tournaments, will be coached by former Uruguay international Miguel Falero whose squad features six names based outside of Honduras, including Douglas Martinez, who plays in MLS with Real Salt Lake.

New Zealand's squad for this summer's Games was announced on June 25.

Burnley striker Chris Wood is one of the over-age players, as is West Ham defender Winston Reid.

Bayern Munich's Sarpreet Singh has not been included, with Danny Hay, the head coach of this New Zealand team, explaining that decision was taken in order for Singh to secure the best loan deal possible for the upcoming season.

On July 14, it was announced that Michael Boxall had pulled out from the squad due to a thigh injury, leaving New Zealand with 21 players.

Romania’s 22-man squad for this summer’s Games was announced on July 1, albeit without many of the country’s most exciting talents.

Mircea Lucescu, the Romanian coach in charge of Dynamo Kyiv, recently dubbed it ‘disgraceful’ that clubs were to refuse to release many of the country’s young stars, including Rangers’ Ianis Hagi.

On July 9, Dragos Nedelcu withdrew from the squad at the wish of Fortuna Dusseldorf, who he was joining on loan.

Defenders: Radu Boboc, Andrei Chindris, Virgil Ghita, Ricardo Grigore, Alex Pascanu, Andrei Ratiu, Florin Stefan*.

South Korea's final 22-player squad that will travel to Tokyo this summer was announced on July 2.

Valencia's Lee Kang-in, the 20-year-old sensation who has earned comparisons to David Silva, is one of just three players who play their club football abroad - Beijing Guoan's Kim Min-jae and Bordeaux's Hwang Ui-jo, both over-aged players, being the other two. 

Speaking on the absence of Heung-min Son, head coach Kim Hak-bum explained that he was left out in order to protect him, despite Tottenham agreeing to let him to go to the Games.

Argentina named a 26-man preliminary squad for the Olympics on June 17 before announcing their final 22 on July 1.

Thiago Almada, who featured in Goal’s 2019 and 2020 NXGN lists, is included, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Lucas Alario cut as head coach Fernando Batista selected just one over-age player.

Australia's final squad for the tournament was revealed on June 29.

Head coach of the Socceroos, Graham Arnold, will take the team this summer as they prepare to compete at their first Games since 2008.

Manchester City's Daniel Arzani, the youngest player ever to appear for Australia at a World Cup, is the stand-out name in a squad that features 12 players who play in the A-League.

On July 5, Marco Tillo and Jay Rich-Baghuelou replaced Ramy Najjarine and Ruon Tongyik on the roster.

Goalkeepers: Tom Glover, Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Jordan Holmes.

Defenders: Nathaniel Atkinson, Thomas Deng, Joel King, Kye Rowles, Harry Souttar, Jay Rich-Baghuelou.

Egypt's final squad for this summer's trip to Tokyo was confirmed on July 2.

Mohamed Salah, who was named in the nation's provisional squad, alongside Arsenal's Mohamed Elneny, was not included, nor was Elneny or Galatasaray's Mostafa Mohamed.

Speaking to OnTime Sport on June, Egypt Football Assocation president Ahmed Megahed said: "[Salah] told us that he will make a new attempt with the technical staff of [Liverpool], to resolve the matter, and within the next two days he will find a way." However, the African nation will head to the Games without their biggest star.

Former Stoke City winger Ramadan Sobhi and ex-West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi are among those included in the final 22, the latter the only player in the squad who doesn't play his club football in Egypt.

Six members of Spain’s Euro 2020 squad are included - Pedri, Eric Garcia, Dani Olmo, Unai Simon, Mikel Oyarzabal and Pau Torres.

Real Sociedad's Mikel Merino and the Real Madrid duo of Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio are the three over-age players.

Goalkeepers: Alex Dominguez, Alvaro Fernandes, Unai Simon.

Defenders: Eric Garcia, Juan Miranda, Oscar Mingueza, Oscar Gil, Pau Torres, Jesus Vallejo.

After naming a 50-man preliminary squad on June 15, Brazil's final roster for this summer's Games was announced on June 17. However, after several clubs refused to release players, a new squad was announced on July 2.

Gerson of Marseille, Zenit forward Malcom and Flamengo's Pedro were all included in the initial squad, but were not granted permission by their clubs to head to the Games. However, Malcom was added to the squad on July 14 after Douglas Augusto withdrew with an injury.

Barcelona legend Dani Alves is one of the three over-age players included, with Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli, Lyon star Bruno Guimaraes and Reinier, on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid, among the 11 players in the 22 who play their football outside of Brazil.

On July 8, Arsenal defender Gabriel was replaced by Ricardo Graca, due to injury.

Germany's final squad for the Olympic Games was released on July 4.

The team will be led by Stefan Kuntz, the former international striker who was part of his country's victorious Euro 1996 team, scoring against England in the semi-finals.

On July 9, Ragnar Ache and Keven Schlotterbeck replaced Josha Vagnoman and Niklas Dorsch in the squad.

Goalkeepers: Svend Brodersen, Florian Muller, Luca Plogmann.

Defenders: Benjamin Henrichs, Amos Pieper, David Raum, Jordan Torunarigha, Felix Uduokhai, Keven Schlotterbeck.

The Ivory's Coast final squad, chosen by head coach Soualiho Haidara, was announced on July 3.

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is included, alongside club-mate Eric Bailly, who is one of three over-aged players. The other two are Milan's Franck Kessie and Max Gradel, the former Leicester, Bournemouth and Leeds forward who now plays his football in Turkey, with Sivasspor.

Saudi Arabia announced a 24-man preliminary squad on June 16, before cutting the roster down to 22.

The team, to be coached by Saad Al-Shehri, consists entirely of players who play for clubs in their home country, with the three over-age players all members of Saudi Arabia's 2018 World Cup squad.
