Everton have had hold of Calvert-Lewin since 2016 - when he was just 19 years old - but his chapter on Merseyside could be coming to an end with his contract set to expire in the summer. According to The Sun, Newcastle are keen to sign the 27-year-old but are willing to wait until the end of the season, when they do not have to pay a fee for the England international.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Newcastle are the front runners to land Calvert-Lewin's signature but he has interest elsewhere. While reports say other Premier League clubs are interested in the striker, Italian side Fiorentina are also considering a move for him. It is believed that Calvert-Lewin would prefer to stay in the English top-flight as he is settled in his homeland with a family.
DID YOU KNOW?
Calvert-Lewin has been a regular feature for Sean Dyche this season but has not been a prolific force. He has netted just two Premier League goals, with his last coming all the way back in September. In 265 appearances for Everton, the forward has netted 70 times in all competitions.

WHAT NEXT FOR CALVERT-LEWIN?
There is no guarantee that Calvert-Lewin will leave Everton in the summer and the England international could opt to sign a new deal. The Toffees are undergoing an upturn in form under Dyche and with new ownership through the door, as well as a new stadium on the way, there could be better days ahead on Merseyside.
