Former Bayern midfielder Dietmar Hamann, who spent time in England during his playing days, is not convinced that Kane will form part of an elaborate freshening up of United’s ranks. He has told BettingLounge.co.uk: “People say the Bundesliga isn’t as strong as the Premier League and Bayern Munich are superior to the other teams, but he is playing for a good team that is creating chances and it helps him be the best finisher around.
“I think he’ll still be around that in five years’ time, whether he has the legs to get into the positions remains to be seen, but the next one or two seasons he will be for sure.
“Manchester United will only start making offers after the Europa League final because if they don’t get into the Champions League there is no way they can attract a player like Harry Kane.
“It’s a huge game when it comes to transfer targets, it would change the whole season for either United or Spurs, I think it’s the most intriguing Europa League final for a number of years.
“The only way United might attract Kane is by getting into the Champions League and spending 300 million on a lot of top players in the summer, otherwise I can’t see it.”
