    According to The Guardian, City failed to submit a visa application in time for Wednesday's match in Paris in a remarkable mishap. The Women's Super League outfit were unsuccessful in their desperate late attempts to secure a visa for Shaw and so will be without their star striker, who was the top scorer in the WSL last season and won the league's Player of the Season award.

    Shaw's absence is a big blow for Gareth Taylor's side ahead of the first leg of their Champions League qualifier. City will need to overcome Paris FC after finishing second in the WSL last season, meaning a qualifier is required to reach the group stage.
