AFPTHE BIGGER PICTURE
With his contract set to expire on July 13 and no renewal on the table, the 34-year-old is available on a free transfer. His next move will likely come down to choosing between financial gain in Qatar or a competitive European project in Turkey under a familiar coach. Either way, he won’t be continuing in Spain’s top flight despite reported interest.
Getty ImagesWHAT NEXT FOR VAZQUEZ?
Vazquez's final decision is expected in the coming weeks. With Espanyol out of the picture, Fenerbahce and Qatari clubs are the only serious contenders. A move to Turkey would see him link up with Mourinho again, while Qatar promises a lucrative payday for the veteran Spaniard.
