Another left-back for Man Utd? Red Devils enter negotiations with Pervis Estupinan - and Brighton are open to selling Ecuador star

According to Ben Jacobs, United want to further strengthen the left side of their defence and have started discussions with Estupinan. While no formal approach has been made yet, Brighton are open to selling the Ecuador international having recently recruited Maxim De Cuyper on a five-year contract from Club Brugge.

Head coach Ruben Amorim will continue with his wing-back system during his first full season in charge at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have already recruited Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in January and also have 30-year-old Luke Shaw as an option on the left, but Estupinan would bring proven Premier League quality after impressing in three seasons with the Seagulls.

There's still plenty of work for United to do in the remainder of the summer transfer window. They have so far only managed to bring in Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Paraguayan teenager Diego Leon, with a deal for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo stuck at an impasse. There is also slated interest in Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who is considering his future at Stamford Bridge.

United are still trying to ditch a number of players who have no future at the club. However, the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho remain unsold with a little over a month to go before the start of the Premier League season.
