With Madrid 1-0 up, Vinicius Junior received the ball on the left-hand touchline with little options ahead of him. Then, as he has so often done this season, Bellingham made a lung-busting run through the middle of the park and beyond the Girona defence. Vinicius hit a pass with the outside of his right boot to curve the ball beyond the defence and find the Englishman who rounded the keeper and scored.

The moment of brilliance from Madrid's dynamic pair put Los Blancos two goals to the good ahead of half-time. Up against Girona, their biggest rivals for the La Liga title this season, the men who always seem built for the big occasion have stepped up once again. Madrid went on to win the game 4-0 and move five points clear of Girona.

Bellingham and Madrid now look strong favourites to clinch the title after extending their lead at the top of the table. As always, Madrid will also be aiming to add yet another Champions League to their cabinet and face RB Leipzig on Tuesday in the Round of 16.
