Joshua Kimmich opens up on Vincent Kompany's coaching methods as Bayern star hints at where he will play under new boss after rejecting move to PSG

The experienced German midfielder, who can also play as a full-back, was linked with a move away from Bayern Munich earlier this summer, however, he recently rejected a move to PSG and is now reportedly planning to put pen to paper on a new contract.

The 29-year-old had even heaped praise on Kompany after playing an important role in the club's pre-season friendly win over Tottenham last week and has now given an indication of the position he will play under the Belgian in the upcoming 2024-25 campaign.

Speaking to Sky Sports during a charity event, the player said: "So far I have only trained and played in central midfield. That is the plan for now. In general, [Kompany] knows, I know, we all know that I can play both positions. The coach will decide where it ends up."

Asked about Kompany's methods in training, he said: "He is very structured. You can see that it is important to him that he conveys content and that it reaches us. He is very, very motivated and puts the team spirit at the forefront."

The Germany international is likely to be part of the Bayern Munich squad that will face Tottenham in a second consecutive pre-season friendly in London on Saturday.
