Jose Mourinho's next job? Roma boss sets eyes on Brazil national team role despite flirtations with Saudi Arabia - after advising Selecao target Carlo Ancelotti to stay at Real Madrid

Despite Ancelotti being linked with the Brazil national team manager's role next year when his contract with Real Madrid expires, AS Roma boss Mourinho has reportedly expressed his desire to manage the Selecao once his contract with the Italian club ends at the end of the ongoing season, according to UOL.

The 60-year-old manager thinks that the doors of top European clubs have shut for him and it is time that he takes up a national team role in the future.

In a recent interview with TG1, the former Chelsea manager advised Ancelotti to continue at Los Blancos as he thinks that the Italian is the perfect candidate to manage a club of their stature.

He was quoted saying, "I think only a madman would leave Real Madrid when he is still wanted. I am certain that at the first sign from Florentino [Perez, Madrid's president], Carlo will remain, because he is perfect for Real Madrid and Real Madrid are perfect for him."

When Rai2 asked if there was a possibility that the Portuguese manager could move back to his former club in Spain, he said, "Me at Real Madrid? When you have a super coach, why should you think of another? Knowing Don Florentino [Perez, Madrid president], and I know him very well, he is a super intelligent man. If he reads the press he has his very clear ideas. As a Madridista, as a man who has some white ribs, and as an Ancelottian, I hope that the season goes fantastically and that next season Carlo is still there, because I think he is the perfect coach for Real Madrid."

The Roma manager did have lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League during the summer but he rejected them in order to honour his contract with Giallorossi.

As for the Spanish giants, Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso is being tipped to succeed Ancelotti if and when he leaves the club.

For now, the legendary manager is focused on his own club who are set to face Servette in the Europa League on Thursday.
