How much will Ivan Toney cost? Thomas Frank suggests striker's transfer fee could go 'through the roof' but denies Brentford have set asking price amid Arsenal & Man Utd target

Toney has been one of the most hotly discussed commodities in the Premier League as the summer transfer window draws ever closer. It has been reported earlier that Brentford have set a £50 million ($63m) asking price for the 28-year-old striker, however, the Bees boss remains adamant that the club has not done so.

Speaking to the media, Frank said: "You should ask Phil Giles (director of football) and Matthew Benham (owner) about that because they will be even better to answer that question. I'm pretty sure the answer will be that there is no price.

"I think it's all about the narrative. If you can score five goals in five then suddenly your price is through the roof. If a striker performs consistently over time then there is a good price. I know Ivan is a good player and he's proven that many times. Last season he was fantastic, he made his full England debut and I think he's a very good player."

The 28-year-old has been a long-term target for Chelsea and Arsenal for quite a few months now, while United have only recently become interested in the services that Toney has to offer as they now seem to not want to place all their bets solely on Rasmus Hojlund.

The Northampton-born striker will next be in action when Brentford take on Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, April 27 as he will look to make a strong end to the season to boost his hopes of making Gareth Southgate's England squad for the Euros.
