The Blues have now travelled to the Club World Cup with Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen and new arrival Mike Penders as their goalkeeper options. Maresca has now expressed his belief that Chelsea's 'situation is simple' as he explained that Sanchez will be the starting goalkeeper with Jorgensen playing second fiddle, while they continue to monitor Penders' progress. The Italian also refused to be drawn on the pursuit of Maignan.
Speaking to the media, Maresca said: "The keeper situation is simple, Robert is No.1, Filip is No.2, and we will analyse and judge Penders. Maignan and different players at other clubs - I don't think it is worth talking about them."
