Does Harry Kane speak German yet? Number of lessons taken in by €100m Bayern Munich striker revealed

The England captain severed career-long ties with Premier League side Tottenham when completing a €100 million (£88m/$109m) transfer to the Allianz Arena. The Bundesliga champions knew what they were getting and have seen Kane score 21 goals through 16 appearances in all competitions – with that haul including three hat-tricks.

While Kane is feeling at home in Germany, he is yet to be joined by his young family. That is giving him time to focus on his game, and learning a new language. The 30-year-old striker is far from fluent yet, but he is benefiting from having plenty of English speakers around him.

Kane admits that his language skills have become a slow burner, with the Daily Mail claiming that he has taken in “around 10 sessions so far”. Bayern are keen for him to get a grasp of the native language in his new surroundings, allowing communication on and off the pitch to become easier.

Kane has never been one to back down from a challenge – allowing him to become Tottenham and England’s all-time leading goalscorer – and is expected to take his game to even greater heights once his wife and children are alongside him, while also adding a new language to his ever-growing CV.
