  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Ronaldo launched his YouTube channel in August and racked up over 10 million followers in 24 hours, setting a world record in the process. His 'UR - Cristiano' channel now has over 68 million subscribers, and in his latest video, he promised to "break the internet", as he met up with Mr Beast, who has an amazing 331 million subscribers. Indeed, the latter handed over some advice on how to grow his following.

    WHAT MR BEAST SAID

Mr Beast urged Ronaldo to start collaborating with other celebrities and influencers, saying: "Obviously you're still a professional football player, you have a lot going on, so I think you're doing your best. I think your greatest asset is that anyone will film with you so you could have so many cool collabs, kind of like this one. You should have Tom Brady pop in for a video, Speed, like all these big names. Something easy for you would be after a big game, if you just hopped on the mic and did a five-minute (video) or a podcast where you talked about it... so many people would want to know when you talk about it."

He added: "Could you imagine if Ronaldo did a video where he reacted to his 10 greatest goals? You know how crazy that would be? Like that goal where you did the bicycle kick, I've seen that at least 100 times, I would love to know what you were thinking when you just decide to bicycle kick the f*cking ball."

  • THE GOSSIP

Beast also replied to the video in the YouTube comments, revealing that he and Ronaldo filmed his "biggest ever video", which is set to release on November 30. It remains to be seen how long it takes the Portugal superstar to catch up to one of the most famous YouTubers on the planet, but a video with superfan Speed would likely go a long way to closing the gap between the pair.

    WHAT NEXT?

Ronaldo will now have to balance his on-pitch life with that of being a social media influencer. At the time of writing, his most popular video has just over 52 million views, but that is likely to be outstripped by whatever his collaboration is with Mr Beast at the end of November.
