Arsenal fans rip into 'shameless' Mikel Arteta as head coach makes 'embarrassing' Community Shield boast after seeing trophy record questioned

Arteta, who took charge of the Gunners in December 2019, has transformed the club into serious title contenders again in the last couple of seasons. However, in terms of major silverware, he has only one FA Cup to show for himself. He was recently quizzed on his trophy record in a press conference and in reply, the Spaniard boasted of winning two Community Shields as well.

The Arsenal boss' remark did not go down well with the fans who slammed the manager for bragging about winning non-major titles like the Community Shield.

The Gunners are six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool. However, they have been accused of running out of ideas from open play and have been criticised for over-reliance on set pieces.

The north London side will next face Crystal Palace in back-to-back encounters in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Wednesday before meeting them again in the Premier League on Saturday.
