'The margins are so small' - Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta pinpoints when he feels nerve-jangling title race against Man City & Liverpool will be decided

Three points separate league leaders Liverpool and defending Premier League champions Manchester City, with Arsenal one point ahead of Pep Guardiola's men. With eight matches remaining, the title race is too close to call and Gunners manager Arteta thinks all three sides will have a shot of winning the league on the final day of the campaign.

He told reporters: "This is the level and it’s been the level in this league for the past six or seven years. The margins are so small, let’s see those numbers at the end of the last game and hopefully if those are maintained, I think we have a good chance. We’re still not at the top and we have to transform that into winning and winning and winning, and that’s the only way to have the chance in the last game of the season to do it."

The Spaniard added: "I don’t know what is going to happen but it is very unlikely that everybody wins every game. You look back a what happened in previous seasons and it is very, very unlikely – but you don’t know. Let’s do everything we possibly can. Don’t leave anything left and play with the same enthusiasm and hunger and quality, and let’s see where it takes us."

Arsenal are looking to win their first Premier League title since 2004, while Guardiola is eager to add to his five league titles in the English top-flight, and Jurgen Klopp will aim to leave on a high, with the German stepping down as Reds manager at the end of the season. The stakes could not be much higher.

City begin this weekend's round of fixtures away to Crystal Palace in the early kick-off on Saturday, whereas Arsenal travel to Brighton later that day. Leaders Liverpool face bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday to round off an intriguing list of matches.
