Arsenal launch move for Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman as Gunners look to fight off Saudi transfer interest in tricky winger

Per Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal have initiated contact with Coman's management as they explore the prospect of signing the Frenchman this summer. The winger has slipped down the pecking order at the Bundesliga giants and has made just 11 league starts this season.

Coman's contract expires in 2027 but the report claims that he is likely to leave the club this summer, amid rival interest from Saudi Arabia. He has still contributed six goals and four assists this season, but Bayern are said to be open to the prospect of allowing him to leave.

Up until the 2023-24 season, Coman had won a league title in every professional season he had played as a footballer, winning Ligue 1 twice with Paris Saint-Germain, Serie A twice with Juventus, and the Bundesliga eight times with Bayern. That streak was broken when Bayer Leverkusen lifted Germany's top title last term.

Bayern play Inter in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final in midweek, while Arsenal play Real Madrid. Bayern are trailing 2-1 from the first leg, while the Gunners are 3-0 up.
