Arne Slot proud to be 'part of the history' of Liverpool after 'unbelievable' Premier League title success

The Dutch coach oversaw a historic season at Anfield as Liverpool became the English champions for a record equalling 20th time. Slot also became only the sixth manager in the history of the Premier League to win the title in his maiden campaign in England.

After a 5-1 win at Anfield over Tottenham on Sunday, Slot was on cloud nine as he celebrated his first trophy in England with the fans and his players. The 46-year-old expressed his happiness at the end of the game as he claimed that he is proud to be a part of the Merseyside club's history.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Looking back I have enjoyed the whole day. You could see looking in their eyes how much it meant to them today. It was impossible to us to not get that point or win today. What else is there to say? It is unbelievable. From this moment now I am part of the history of this great football club."

The newly crowned champions of England will be next seen in action at Stamford Bridge on May 4 as they take on Enzo Maresca's Chelsea.
