USWNT star Alex Morgan has returned from injury for the San Diego Wave with a “regroup and refocus” message in her Olympic countdown.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The vastly-experienced striker – who has scored 123 goals through 223 appearances for her country – is hoping to form part of Emma Hayes’ plans for a gold medal bid in Paris later this year. She has been included in the first squad pieced together by her new national team coach.
Morgan was given 27 minutes in that contest, which ended in a goalless draw. She is delighted to be back out on the field, with an important couple of months approaching at domestic and international level – which is allowing the legendary forward to “regroup and refocus”.

Alongside her club commitments, Morgan will be hoping to figure in friendly dates with South Korea in early June as Hayes opens her reign as USWNT coach – with the Olympic Games in Paris due to get underway on July 24.
