WATCH: Altidore and Giovinco link up on beautiful Toronto goal

Sebastian Giovinco’s 2017 goal drought is over, and he has teammate Jozy Altidore to thank for that.

The 2015 MLS MVP had gone his first three games without finding the back of the net – a bit surprising given he scored 22 and 17 goals in his first two MLS seasons. His struggles did not appear to be ending any time soon, as he spurned an excellent chance early in the match against Atlanta United, sending an attempted volley well over the goal with keeper Alec Kann scrambling.

But Giovinco got sorted in the 20th minute when Victor Vazquez sent a ball into the area. There, Altidore delivered an excellent touch to flick it into the path of Giovinco. The Atomic Ant then put the chance into the back of the net, beating Kann.

The Giovinco goal cancelled out a Hector Villalba tally five minutes earlier on the counterattack, which had given the visitors an early lead.

Justin Morrow gave TFC a lead just before the break, but Hector Villalba scored two minutes after the re-start to give the match a 2-2 final score.
