UEFA Super Cup: All of Chelsea's goals from the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League

Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea are set to clash in Istanbul in the UEFA Super Cup on Thursday.

A win against the Champions of Europe could serve as a massive boost in morale for the Europa League wingers who are entering a challenging season with an inexperienced attack.

However, a look at their goals from the Europa League last season suggests that the goals did pour in from all parts of the pitch when needed.

The combination between Willian and striker Oliver Giroud on the left helped the Blues rake in crucial goals in the group stages. The trade-mark move saw a cut-back or a low-cross from the Brazilian after the play was stretched on the left-flank by the likes of Ross Barkley and Jorginho. Giroud’s astute positioning enabled him to finish off the move in a single touch.

Willian and Barkley also smashed the inside of the net while taking free-kicks from the left side of the pitch against Malmo and Dinamo Kiev.

A link-up on the left was also a key move ahead that led to three of the four goals Chelsea scored against Arsenal in the final.

The first saw Emerson Palmieri float in an exquisite cross for Giroud to head past a hapless Petr Cech. Eden Hazard provided a low-cross from the left to the centre of the box for Pedro Rodriguez to slot it past the former Chelsea keeper just 10 minutes later.

Giroud was the provider for Chelsea’s fourth, as he linked up beautifully with the Belgian to seal the win.
