Uchenna Kanu surpasses Oshoala and Sane in Living Room Cup's side steps challenge

Nigeria striker Uchenna Kanu has surpassed her compatriots Asisat Oshoala and Onome Ebi, and Germany forward Leroy Sane in the 'side steps challenge'.

Top football stars across the world are embracing a number of training contests to stay fit during their self-isolation to avoid contracting of the coronavirus.

This is following the suspension of leagues and sporting events globally due to the Covid-19 outbreak, which has now affected more than 2, 804,500 people and killed over 195,000, as on Thursday.

The Living Room Cup, which started in early April, is one of the contests set up by kit manufacturing company Nike to engage footballers on social media.

Two weeks ago, South Africa star Caster Semenya notched 176 to beat Cristiano Ronaldo's 142 reps, Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie and Janine Van Wyk in a 45-seconds ab challenge.

This week, Manchester City star Sane launched the side steps contest, raking up 100 points in 45 seconds - a record Oshoala and Ebi surpassed, managing 106 and 103, respectively.

However, Sevilla's recent signing Kanu was at her best to outshine her Spanish-based Nigerian counterpart Oshoala as she hit whopping 119 points.

The 22-year-old striker, who scored 10 goals to help Nigeria clinch the 2019 Wafu Women's Cup in Cote d'Ivoire last May, took to social media to celebrate her feat.

"Nike Living Room Cup Week 3 119 insane side steps in 45 seconds!Thank you @LeroySane19 for the challenge! I nominate everyone!," Kanu wrote on twitter.
