Thindwa is against Kaizer Chiefs signing players from small clubs

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Scara Thindwa tells Goal it’s good that they look to bolster from every team, but cautions that they should be more vigilant when targeting players from the so-called smaller clubs.

“When you sign a player who comes from a small team, especially if you sign the player for Chiefs, he needs to be given time. I know from my experience from Swaziland.

“I came to Chiefs, it was a massive move for me to come to a massive team like Chiefs. It just overwhelmed me, it wasn’t easy for me to adjust but once I was given the opportunity to adjust I started well,” Thindwa told Goal.

Thindwa joined the Amakhosi in the 90s and wasted no time to engrave himself into legendary status.

The Swazi-born former player advises that the Glamour Boys need not always sign players from the so-called smaller teams as they usually take time to adjust to life.

“The point I am trying to make is that it’s not always advisable to sign players coming from a smaller team because he might be good but it might take him long to adjust so that he can play as well as he is expected to play.

“So it is always advantageous to sign players who are going in there and start giving the performance he is supposed to give,” Thindwa said.
