Spoils shared again between Sydney FC and Shanghai SIPG

Sydney FC and Shanghai SIPG have drawn for the second time in two weeks as their clash in China ended 2-2 on Tuesday night.

After coming from behind three times to salvage a 3-3 draw last time they met, Shanghai seized the initiative early on in this contest.

Despite spending much of the first-half on the back foot however, the Sky Blues opened the scoring in the 34th minute following a slick team move.

Brandon O'Neill the goal scorer after a quick counter led by Rhyan Grant saw Anthony Caceres tee up O'Neill, who placed the ball expertly into the bottom right.

Searching for a response in the second half, Shanghai made a double change at the break as they introduced Elkeson and Wenjun Lu.

Those substitutions would pay immediate dividends for SIPG as Elkeson headed home a Hulk cross just two minutes after half-time.

Shanghai's fast start to the second half continued In the 59th minute as Wang Shenchao steered the ball home at the back post to hand his side the lead.

Sydney wouldn't be behind for long however as Adam Le Fondre headed home a Siem de Jong cross in the 62nd minute.

An entertaining affair once again ending in a draw that leaves the Sky Blues bottom of Group H but still with some hope of progressing.
