Seema: Ex-Orlando Pirates captain joins Black Leopards technical team

Black Leopards have announced the arrival of Orlando Pirates legend Lehlohonolo Seema at the Limpopo-based club.

The 40-year-old tactician has been jobless since he parted ways with Chippa United last week due to a poor run of results.

Seema has now been added to Lidoda Duvha's new-look technical team as the club looks to improve its results in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The former Lesotho international and Leopards legend Morgan Shivambu will serve as the assistant coaches under club head coach Dylan Kerr.

"Big boost for ⁦Lidoda Duvha technical team with the addition of Lehlohonolo Seema. Welcome Lehlohonolo Seema," a club statement read.

Seema was relieved of his duties at Chippa a few days after the Chilli Boys recorded their third successive defeat in the league when they lost 3-1 to AmaZulu FC in Durban on December 20.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic captain was initially replaced by controversial Belgian coach Luc Eymael at the Eastern Cape-based side.

However, Chippa withdrew their decision to appoint Eymael after a public outcry over their announcement following his alleged racist remarks in Tanzania in July 2020

The Chilli Boys have since re-appointed local tactician Dan Malesela as their new head coach after he was dismissed by TS Galaxy.

Seema will be hoping to help Kerr guide Leopards out of the relegation zone as Lidoda Divha are placed 15th on the league standings with five points from eight matches.

The Mafeteng-born mentor was able to steer Chippa to safety after joining the club in July 2020 - replacing Rhulani Mokwena.

The Chill Boys finished 11th on the league standings having recorded two wins, two defeats and two draws in the bio-bubble under Seema.

However, Chippa struggled this season, winning just one of their opening eight matches, while registering five defeats and two draws in the process.

Seema's first game on the Leopards dugout will be against Lamontville Golden Arrows at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on January 5.

Lidoda Duvha are undefeated in their last three league games against Arrows having recorded two wins and one draw.
