Mamelodi Sundowns coach Mosimane lets the cat out of the bag

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has finally made public the secret he kept from his social media followers for hours. 

Throughout the day on Sunday, football fans kept guessing as to what Mosimane's cryptic Twitter post about an announcement was about. 

However, he let the cat out of the bag on Monday morning, announcing that he has taken full control of his Instagram account. 

The 55-year-old mentor said he will use the platform to share reliable and personal content about his family life, coaching life and his philosophy on life. 

"I am glad to announce that after taking full control of @TheRealPitso Instagram handle, it was a smooth handover of the page," said Mosimane in a video posted on Instagram. 

"You will now officially be able to get authentic and reliable Instagram content on this page."

Mosimane had been active on Twitter for months where he has been interacting with his followers on a regular basis. 

With issues of his contract with Sundowns still unresolved, Mosimane was expected by many to announce that he will be staying at the club beyond the current season. 

The two parties have been locked in negotiations for six months, and still haven't reached an agreement as neither Mosimane nor Sundowns have announced a deal. 

However, media reports suggest that the announcement of the new deal is imminent and that the Kagiso-born mentor has agreed to extend his contract. 

Mosimane has been with the Brazilians for seven-and-a-half years and has become the club's longest-serving coach in the PSL era. 

In addition, it is at Sundowns where Mosimane worked hard to join an exclusive list of coaches with four South African league titles. 

The other three coaches are Gavin Hunt, Gordon Igesund and the late Ted Dumitru, who won it with Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. 

Mosimane has also won the Nedbank Cup and two Telkom Knockout Cup titles with the Tshwane giants. 

Apart from the nine trophies he won with Sundowns over the years, Mosimane also lifted two major trophies during his time with SuperSport United between 2001 and 2007 before joining Bafana Bafana on a permanent basis.
