Haron Shakava: Gor Mahia will progress despite draw against Rayon Sports

Gor Mahia started their Caf Confederation Cup journey in Group stages with a draw against Rwanda's Rayon Sports in Kigali.

The Dylan Kerr coached side managed to get a precious draw and are currently placed in the second position in Group D. K'Ogalo captain Haron Shakava is still unhappy with the fact that his team did not manage to get maximum points away, but he is optimistic.

"If you analyze the situation well, we created many chances and we could have scored many goals, unfortunately we did not and we ended up sharing the points. A point away is good, but we could have done better and get all three.

"We want to win our home matches, and get at least a point away and by doing that we will for sure progress," Shakava told Goal.

Gor Mahia is currently placed second in the group, behind USM Algiers of Algeria, who beat Young Africans (Yanga) 4-0 in the opener.
