Championship Betting Tips: Goals galore as relegation battle heats up

With no Premier League fixtures, Championship takes centre-stage in England this midweek with a host of important fixtures at both the top and the bottom of the table.

Our tipster has opted to focus on the potential relegation battles in this treble that pays out at over 8/1 (9.0) with bet365 on Tuesday night.

Wigan vs Middlesbrough Betting Tips

Wigan have a fight on their hands to extend their current run in the Championship to three seasons, with the Latics currently 22nd and four points from safety.

Whilst they are the lowest scorers in the league with just 29 goals to their name, they have actually scored five in their last six league fixtures and both teams to score appeals at 5/6 (1.83).

However, Paul Cook’s men have mustered just four clean sheets and just one in their last eight matches, meaning a Middlesbrough side that has struck in 11 of their last 12 in the Championship should be able to net again at the DW Stadium.

Barnsley vs Birmingham City Betting Tips

Barnsley are in similar dire straits to Wigan but they have four points fewer than the Lancashire club, meaning they are eight points from avoiding relegation after picking up just 25 points so far.

Their plight could be about to get even worse when Birmingham visit South Yorkshire. The Blues are unbeaten in five league games for the first time this season, with three wins in that run including impressive victories over promotion-chasing Nottingham Forest and Bristol City.

With confidence sky-high, Birmingham will be looking to keep that good form going when they visit a Barnsley side that have lost four of their last six Championship games and the Blues are good value at 17/10 (2.70) to pick up three points.

Blackburn Rovers vs Hull City Betting Tips

Although not strictly a relegation clash, both Blackburn and Hull will still be looking to pick up as many points as possible to ensure they are not scrapping for wins at the end of the campaign.

Rovers are struggling for form with just two wins from their last nine games, but with 13 goals in their last eight, should be able to find the net once again.

Their defence leaves something to be desired with just one clean sheet in that time, and Hull could exploit that weakness after scoring in each of their last four games in all competitions – making both teams to score the best bet at 5/6 (1.83).
