Afcon 2019: Watch Botha Msila at the end of his Cape to Cairo journey

Bafana Bafana fan Botha Msila has come to the end of a life-changing experience across the continent of Africa.

Before the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), Msila set out to hitchhike from Cape Town to Cairo to watch the football tournament in Egypt.

He encountered many complications and interesting experiences on the way from South Africa to Kenya, but then couldn't get a Visa into Ethiopia.

This is when he turned back and was fortunate to get a sponsored plane ticket from Nairobi to Cairo. Msila had won over many followers on Twitter, and he was eventually supported by a travel agency, DIRCO and South African broadcaster Robert Marawa.

Msila received VIP treatment in Egypt 2019 as we watched him at many of Afcon's big games, including the opening game and the final. He was named the Caf Fan of the Match as Algeria beat Senegal 1-0 in the final.

With the tournament over, Msila has announced he has arrived safely back home in South Africa.

We can watch his final videos, thanking all those who helped him here.
