Commentary

That's all for today, goodbye!
Man City will now face Wolves and Manchester United either side of the international break before facing FC Copenhagen in the Champions League. Dortmund will travel to Sevilla in their next European fixture as they remain second in the group behind Man City.
After a quiet first half for both sides, Dortmund broke the deadlock in the 56th minute after Bellingham headed home a cross from Reus. It was a deserved lead from Dortmund but they were left shell-shocked in the last ten minutes of the game. Stones tried his luck from 25-yards out and his powerful effort found its way past Meyer in goal. Cancelo's trivela cross was met by a flying Haaland to put City in the lead and secure a 2-1 win.

If Man City want to make the most of their possession in this game, they will need to take more risks. They are refusing to play lofted passes over the top of the Dortmund defended despite Haaland and De Bruyne making multiple runs in that direction. The away side have come close to creating very good chances a few times but are lacking the final pass at the moment.
Man City are struggling to break down the low block of the Dortmund defence and are yet to have a shot on target. The hosts are slow in their build-up play and finding it difficult to find the likes of Haaland and Mahrez in dangerous positions. The visitors have been efficient in possession and have not lost the ball in bad positions. Ozcan registered the only shot on target in the first half with Dortmund's only shot so far, but it was an easy save for Ederson.

40' Dortmund play the ball forward really well after Bellingham wins the ball back on the edge of his box. Reyna finds himself with the ball on the right side of the box but his cross towards Modeste is cut out by Stones.
38' Dortmund are having a good spell of possession to stop any pressure on their goal from Man City. They are being patient when going forward.
36' Dortmund quickly progress up the pitch from Meyer's goal kick but Modeste underhits a pass that would have seen Ozcan through on goal.
34' None of Dortmund’s last 17 away games in the UEFA Champions League have been drawn, with the German side winning seven and losing 10 since a 1-1 draw at APOEL Nicosia in October 2017.
32' Meunier once again drives down the right-hand side and cuts the ball back towards the edge of the box, but a deflection from Ake takes the chance away from Reus to shoot.
30' Reus crosses in the ball from a long free-kick, but Akanji clears easily. The second cross from Reyna is also dealt with ease.

22' De Bruyne takes a corner and crosses it towards Akanji, but Meyer punches it away.
20' Meunier drives forward with the ball after Reyna dispossesses Gundogan. The cross from the defender to Modeste in the box was good, but the referee blows for a foul on Ake by the striker.
18' Ake makes a run towards the near post to try and get on the end of De Bruyne's cross but Meyer catches the pass comfortably.
16' Ozcan registers the first shot in the game as tries to curl the ball beyond Ederson from the left side of the box. He gets too much curl on his shot and Ederson collects the ball.
14' Mahrez sends a looping cross to Haaland at the back post but Hummels just about leaps high enough to head the ball away from danger.
12' Cancelo pushes the ball through the legs of Reus and drives towards the byline, but goes too fast for his own good and runs the ball out of play.

8' Reus gets the better of Ake and tries to send a cross towards Modeste but Akanji clears his lines. Ozcan tries to find Reus again but Grealish intercepts the pass.
6' Man City defenders are being given a lot of time on the ball as Dortmund sit deep in their own half to start the game.
4' Gundogan sprays the ball to Mahrez on the right-wing and the winger has plenty of time on the ball. He tries to find Stones with a delicate pass but the ball rolls to Meyer.
2' Cancelo tries to find Haaland at the back post with a cross but Meyer catches it. Man City are starting at a very high tempo.
1' Haaland gets the game underway!
