Pitso Mosimane waxes lyrical about Mamelodi Sundowns captain Themba Zwane - 'No arguments with the coaches, but has an opinion'

Themba Zwane is enjoying a good season so far spiced by lifting the African Football League with Mamelodi Sundowns as well as helping Bafana Bafana to a bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations finals.Despite failing to win the MTN8 and Carling Knockout with Sundowns this season, Zwane is having a term that could end with four major trophies in his hands.His former coach Pitso Mosimane explains all the attributes that make Zwane a respected player.

WHAT HAPPENED?

"No arguments with the coaches, but has an opinion," Mosimane said on <a href="https://twitter.com/TheRealPitso/status/1773026911888785838" target="_blank">social media.</a>"He keeps the dressing room quiet and focused, unselfish behaviour and cares about the team."Does not like anybody who dims his light. Always laughing but an introvert," he added."You have to give him respect and appreciate his talent. Just tell him to dance and ski on the pitch and sit back. You will enjoy it. Leader!"

WHAT MOSIMANE SAID

Mosimane's remarks come just after Zwane grabbed a brace in <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/themba-zwane-brace-inspire-bafana-bafana-to-frustrate-hosts-algeria-in-six-goal-thriller/blt4e0e31826f0c0448" target="_blank">Bafana Bafana's 3-3 draw with Algeria</a> on Tuesday.At 34, he is one of Bafana's senior players, having convinced coach Hugo Broos after the Belgian initially snubbed him.It is a season Zwane has a huge responsibility on his shoulders to captain Sundowns in their bid to win the Caf Champions League for the first time since 2016.

Straight from international duty, Zwane leads Masandawana in their Caf Champions League quarter-final, first-leg match away at Young Africans on Saturday.Sundowns are also bidding for the Premier Soccer League title as well as the Nedbank Cup.
