NFL Week 4 WINNERS & LOSERS: Jaxson Dart introduces himself in New York, while Micah Parson's return to Dallas doesn't go as anyone planned

Week 4 in the NFL was filled with several twists and turns, as several teams picked up statement victories while others fell flat. The Baltimore Ravens' matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs was billed up as a chance for two Super Bowl contenders to potentially save their seasons, but ended in a one-sided 37-20 win for the Chiefs that might have more severe implications in Baltimore.

The other big game of the week was the Sunday Night clash between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys, which featured superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons making his return to Dallas weeks after a blockbuster trade ended in the highest-scoring tie game in 60 years. That was not the only historic game during the week, however, as the NFL's first-ever game in Ireland ended with the Pittsburgh Steelers picking up a 24-21 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

On the other end of the history-making scales, two head coaches are still looking to accomplish some personal history and pick up their first wins in the NFL as the New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn watched his team fall to 0-4 following a 27-21 loss to the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore suffered a 31-19 defeat to the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo's win made them one of the only two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL, along with the Philadelphia Eagles, who picked up a hard-fought 31-25 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Indianapolis Colts seemed set to remain undefeated as well until two goal-line blunders by wide receiver Adonai Mitchell played a major role as the team was beaten 27-20 by the LA Rams.

Elsewhere, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears also picked up narrow wins against the San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders, respectively, while the Houston Texans, New England Patriots, and Detroit Lions picked up commanding victories. The other upset of the day was the Atlanta Falcons beating the Washington Commanders 34-27.

GOAL breaks down the winners & losers from Week 4 in the NFL.

    WINNER: Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs' win against the Ravens did more than just add another tally in the win column, it kept their season off life support moving forward. Kansas City had been staring at the possibility of falling to 1-3, which would have made the Chiefs' road to the playoffs incredibly hard in a competitive AFC West.

The lack of playmaking ability at wide receiver had also been looking like it would be the Chiefs' downfall due to the suspensions to Rashee Rice and the shoulder injury to Xavier Worthy, but Worthy's return showed that the Chiefs' offensive will be just fine.

Worthy picked up 121 total yards on seven touches and should provide more than enough playmaking until Rice returns.

    LOSER: Baltimore Ravens

Not only did the loss put the Baltimore Ravens' playoff hopes on life support after falling to 1-3, but more importantly, a potential hamstring injury to two-time MVP-winning quarterback Lamar Jackson could derail the Ravens' season in a way no one expected.

Jackson injured his hamstring in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game and is set to miss 2-3 weeks, according to the Baltimore Sun, leaving the Ravens without their most important player on offense for at least two games against the Houston Texans and LA Rams.

Making matters worse, the Ravens defense, which had already been missing seven starters as they entered play on Sunday, suffered three more losses as linebacker Roquan Smith and cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins also picked up injuries.

Baltimore entered the season as one of the favorites to make a run at the Super Bowl, however, a poor start combined with injuries may result in the Ravens missing the playoffs altogether if things don't turn around quickly.

    WINNER: New York Giants

Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart's first start for the New York Giants resulted in more than just the team's first win of the season. It gave new hope to one of the NFL's most tortured fanbases of the last decade.

Dart completed 13-20 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, while also picking up 54 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Giants will hope Dart can build off the strong performance in his first start as head coach Brian Daboll and Co. will have to relay on the young QB's dual threat ability even more after superstar WR Malik Nabers suffered a torn ACL during the victory and will be out for the rest of the season.

  • Tennessee Titans v Houston TexansGetty Images Sport

    LOSER: Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans fell to 0-4 after being shutout in a 24-0 loss to the Houston Texans. Houston has also struggled throughout the early portions of this season and entered the game against Tennessee 0-3 before picking up their first win, but looked like every part of the team that made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.

Tennessee's offense not only failed to generate 200 yards in total but was out-gained by punter Johnny Hekker, whose 5 punts totaled 213 yards.

As if the performance on the field wasn't poor enough, the rookie quarterback Cam Ward put the entire organization on notice when he spoke to reporters about how poorly the team had been performing.

  • New York Jets v Miami DolphinsGetty Images Sport

    WINNER: Mike McDaniel

Not only did the Miami Dolphins keep any hopes they have at making the postseason alive by picking up their first win of the season against the New York Jets, but they in all likelihood saved head coach Mike McDaniel's job for the time being.

Before this season even began, rumors ran rampant that McDaneil was on the hot seat and the team had looked poor in the three losses to start the year. Miami had entered Monday Night's game ranked amongst the worst running defenses in the league and had conceded more than 30 points in each of their three defeats this season.

Had Miami fell to 0-4 and been able to beat one of the only other teams in the league that had been yet to pick up a win, it would have signaled the unofficial end of the Dolphins' playoff hopes and possibly the nail in the coffin for McDaniels' tenure.

  • Green Bay Packers v Dallas CowboysGetty Images Sport

    LOSER: Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys' game against the Green Bay Packers may have ended in one of the most exciting tie games in NFL history, but deep down, this has to feel like a loss for the Cowboys.

Following the offseason saga that resulted in Dallas trading edge rusher Micah Parsons to Green Bay, the Cowboys were desperate for a win to turn the narratives around the trade in their favor, and they plain and simply didn't get one.

Parsons didn't have the most glorious stat line on his return to Dallas, but in classic fashion, he made one of the most impactful plays of the game. Although he only recorded three tackles and a sack, Parsons' lone sack came in overtime on a drive deep on Green Bay's own territory that stopped Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott from having a clear path to the endzone.

That one tackle from Parsons proved to be the difference between Dallas scoring a field goal or what would have been a game-winning touchdown.
