Amorim said in the wake of that contest, as uncomfortable questions continue to be asked of his ongoing presence: “If the board and the fans feel I am not the right guy I will go tomorrow with no compensation. But I will not quit.”
He also told TNT Sports: “I'm confident that I'm still the guy. More than (in) the beginning. I know that it is going to be tough. I know that we lost against an English team. I know that the patience of the fans is going to be really short next season. But I guarantee you I will not quit, I will not go away, so at this time I am really confident.”
