WHAT HAPPENED?

"It was a bad season for me, according to my talent and what I can offer to the team," the youngster told <a href="https://www.idiskitimes.co.za/dstv-premiership/shabalala-makes-honest-self-assessment-over-bad-season/" target="_blank">iDiski Times</a>."A lot of ups and downs on my side and I think I have started to play now, which is a bad thing for me."It shows how much I must work in the off-season. I think so far the past games that I’ve played I’ve been doing well but lacking that element of surprise in the final third, the calm and just to take those chances."

WHAT SHABALALA SAID

Shabalala concedes he has to improve especially in creating and scoring goals to stand a chance of commanding a starting berth regularly."Yes, as an attacker it’s a demand for you to have goals, to create goal-scoring opportunities for the strikers and everyone on the team," he added."This season it hasn’t been going my way but I’ll work on it every day as a player and hope for things to get better."
