    WHAT HAPPENED?

Prior to joining former team Abha, Pitso Mosimane had been heavily linked to the coaching job at Kaizer Chiefs.

The rumours intensified after the Saudi Pro League team and the South African parted ways at the end of the season.

Mosiamne then shared a cryptic message about his next move, and many Amakhosi fans thought he had revealed he was joining the Soweto giants.

However, the recent update might not impress the Chiefs faithful.

    WHAT MOSIMANE SAID

"I have not heard anything from the [MT Sports] office, but also, I don’t want to come across as if I am throwing the club under the bus," Mosimane said as quoted by Sowetan.

"Taking any job requires a lot of details, like what are [Chiefs] trying to achieve? How are they going to turn things around? What sort of investment will be made and for how long?"

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

At the moment, it seems the Soweto giants are looking elsewhere for a coach to take over from Molefi Ntseki.

The team has not made any progress in the transfer window because the management is desperate to end the hunt for a new coach first.

Manchester United strikers' coach Benni McCarthy is another coach who has been linked with the coaching job at Amakhosi.

    WHAT NEXT?

Mosimane is in the market for a new team to coach after his exit from the Saudi Pro League, and from the look of things, it might be outside the country.

Rumours have it that Moroccan outfit Wydad Casablanca is interested in appointing the South African after a poor 2023/24 campaign.
