Wonderkids assemble! Kai Rooney meets Man City-bound teenager Cavan Sullivan as future stars for Man Utd & USMNT take in derby experience at the Etihad Stadium

Record-setting Sullivan, who has been making history in MLS with the Philadelphia Union, has a deal in place that will see him make a move to the Etihad Stadium once turning 18 in 2027. He has been checking out his future home during a visit to England.

He was in the stands to watch City endure another Premier League outing to forget against United, as a late collapse led to the reigning champions suffering an agonising 2-1 defeat. While that result gave those connected to the Blues little to smile about, the Red Devils are buzzing.

That includes youth team hopeful Rooney – the son of United legend Wayne – as he also took up a seat in the stands on derby day. After an enthralling contest had finished, promising frontman Rooney met up with fellow 15-year-old Sullivan.

United are hoping that Kai will one day follow in the footsteps of his famous father by becoming a first-team star at Old Trafford. Sullivan has already made his senior bow and is expected to break into the USMNT before too long.
