Nigeria striker Gbolahan Salami joins Turkish side Denizlispor

The former Nigeria Professional Football League star will compete in the Turkish second tier in a deal that runs through till the end of the season
Gbolahan Salami has completed a move to Denizlispor on a year deal.

The striker last featured for Kazakhstani side, Irtysh Pavlodar but left early this month by mutual consent and will now feature in the 1. Lig for the Denizli Atatürk Stadyumu outfit.

The 27-year-old scored four goals in 17 Kazakhstan Premier League as Irtysh got relegated to the second tier.

Gbolahan made his mark in the Nigerian top-flight with Sunshine Stars, Warri Wolves and Enyimba among others.

His most prolific run in Europe was at KuPS where he broke a 15-year-old record. In two seasons with the Finnish side, he scored 30 goals.

The Nigeria international may be handed his Denizlispor debut when they play Hatayspor on Saturday.

Hamit Cihan’s side are 10th in the log after picking three points from their two opening 2018-19 games.
