Nasarawa United’s Ikechukwu Nwani craves for consistency

Nasarawa United’s Ikechukwu Nwani is not carried away by the two goals he scored against El Kanemi Warriors last weekend in a league tie.

The Solid Miners attacker hinted that he needs to be more consistent in front of goal than he has done presently to enable him mprove on his goalscoring act better.

“I am happy to score two goals against El Kanemi Warriors because it doesn’t come often in only my debut season in the league,” Nwani told Goal.

“I know that I still have a lot of work to do to be more consistent as a striker who is paid to score goals. I should have scored more goals if I had converted most of the chances that come my way.

“It is something that I must improve on. I am really working on it because it is my aspiration to rank among the best goals scorers in the league and that won’t be if I am unable to score as many goals as possible.”

The attacker nonetheless revealed that they went into the tie with the Borno Army last weekend with the conviction that only the maximum points will help steer them further away from the relegation zone.

“It was a difficult game because El Kanemi too are not in the right position but we have been told that we must try to get the three points,” he added.

“It was what we went for and we were happy to get it. I got the two goals but I will like to get more in our next game with Plateau United.”
